Brent Jeffrey Thomas is a visual artist and art educator living in New Mexico.

The painting to the right is based on a vintage black and white aerial photograph of the Corder Family Farm near Putnam, Oklahoma.  

The late Kenneth Corder conveyed to Brent the colors of the buildings and vehicles, along with the characteristics of the fields and trees.  Some soil from the farm was added to the reddish paint in the foreground.
